Oh Jatta Ayi Vaisakhi
ਕਣਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਰਾਖੀ
ਓ ਜੱਟਾ ਆਈ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ
(O Farmer, You need not bother about guarding your crops
anymore, Vaisakhi is here)
Vaisakhi (also known as Baisakhi) is a Punjabi Festival
celebrated every year on 13th April. In year 1699, this day Guru Gobind Singh
founded the Panth Khalsa. This day also marks the start of the harvest season
and the Solar New Year.

It is a sight to watch Vaisakhi celebrations across Punjab,
specially in Golden Temple Amritsar & Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara. Fairs are
organized in many places. Farmers start the harvesting of wheat crop this day with
the sound of the dhol, whereas the youngsters get ready in their traditional
clothes & Phulkaris and celebrate with bhangra.
